The staff were superbly friendly and amicable day and night. the budget double room was well-appointed and large with a spa bath. - I could use an iron/ironing board, coffee/tea making machines, and TV. - the location was marvelous, just off the old city area in one of the Netherlands' loveliest unknown gem towns.

The hotel of choice in Wijk bij Duurstede. Useful base for discovering Wijk bij Duurstede. A wide array of delicious food at breakfast time. Spacious units with great bath, very good value for money plus ventilation. Pleasant, supper friendly people working here. Central location, a 10-15 minute walk from Rijn en Lek Windmill.

The room was tastefully decorated and cool, included an electric kettle, air conditioner, and an iron. There was excellent food. the staff was pleasant and welcoming. the location was absolutely perfect.

Hotel 1851 is a lovely modern hotel located in a very scenic area, right by the old city in one of the Netherlands' charming hidden gem towns. I enjoyed the various room options, especially the well-appointed comfort double room with a spa bath and ventilation. the nearby free parking was convenient, and the service was good. the food was fantastic, and the location was great!

We had a wonderful stay at a well-located hotel in a charming town. The room was recently redecorated and had a great bath. The staff spoke a little English, making communication easy. The hotel's location on the edge of the old city area was convenient, and we found parking nearby. Plus, the 41 bus from Utrecht stops right outside. we highly recommend this hotel for a good value stay in a wonderful town.

Loved the room with a great view and comfortable bed. The beautiful bathroom with the amazing spa bath and great toiletries was a definite highlight. The breakfast the next morning was excellent with a wide selection and served at our table. Also, the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

The lack of a door on the toilet was a bit off-putting and felt too open plan for my liking. It would have been more comfortable to have a separate space for privacy.
